Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology (GDIIST) was founded in 13th April, 2021.It was co-constructed by Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government, Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone, Shanghai Brain-Intelligence Engineering and Zhuhai Da Heng Qin Technology Development Co.,Ltd. Professor Xu Zhang, a prominent neuroscientist and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, serves as the founding president.
Approved by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, GDIIST is a registered provincial public institution and an independent legal entity. GDIIST targets to lead the brain-smart technology in the world and contribute to the development of Great Bay Area into one of the most important global centers.
In collaboration with the first national Artificial Intelligence Super-computing Center, GDIIST aims to explore the brain cognitive information system, develop brain-inspired core algorithms, build brain-inspired intelligent computing models and systems, and advance the brain-inspired intelligence theories and technologies through interdisciplinary researches. GDIIS focuses on the major research areas of urgent national strategic demands and the fields that are expected to lead the future development.GDIIST will boost the development of brain cognitive science and technology in Great Bay Area, promote the wide application of brain science and artificial intelligence in industry, information, health, education and social economy.
